Trust is a very small word but it is HUGE. Think of all the circumstances in which “trust” is the deciding factor. When we are a toddler, we have to trust that our parents will be there for us when we take those first baby steps. We have to trust that the pilot is trained and knows how to fly the plane to get us safely to our destination. When we get married we trust that our spouse truly means…..
I’m sure you know that God hates pride. Why do you think that is? When we are prideful we place ourselves in the place of God. We want to sit on the throne of our own life. An example would be if someone really hurts you and you naturally become hurt and most of the time spiteful. This is what pride is. Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. We are not to take things into our own hands to right…..
I want God’s will to be done in every aspect of my life. I know He is on His throne and He reigns. Praise God. It is easy to say, but it isn’t so easy to do. God, in His infinite wisdom, gave us free will. That gets me into more trouble than I can imagine. I try to do what is right and what I know is God’s will, but so many times something comes up and maybe my…..
We all face temptation every minute of every day. The closer you are to God the harder Satan is working on you. But, fear not! Our King Jesus has overcome the devil. Satan may try but we have Christ as our Lord and Savior. I’m sure you have read the story of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness. (Matthew 4:1-11). This temptation occurred right after Jesus was baptized and God said, “This is my Son, whom I love, with him I am…..
The word “peace” is mentioned 400 times in the King James Version of the Bible. When the angel appeared to Mary he said, “Peace be with you”. When Jesus appeared to the disciples after his resurrection He said, “Peace be with you.” Why do you suppose the words “peace be with you” are mentioned so many times? Think about it. What is better than peace? We all pray for peace in the world, in our families and in our lives. …..
We have a dear friend in Atlanta who just suffered a terrible accident. He is a young father of four and they are a very close, Christian family. They were on a family vacation in Gulf Shores, Mississippi. He was diving into a wave and somehow must have hit the bottom and fractured the vertebrae in his neck. They think is the same type injury that Christopher Reeve had. He is paralyzed from the neck down. The family is asking…..
One of my favorite Bible passages is John 14. Jesus knows this is the last evening with His beloved disciples and that He will be crucified the very next day. One would think He would be concerned about Himself. He knew the agony He was going to experience and yet, John 14 is the chapter in which He consoles His disciples. He washes their feet and they have the Last Supper. During the Last Supper Jesus predicts that one of…..
Sometimes it seems that God is so near I could reach out and touch Him. I love when that happens. You can just see and feel the wondrous things He does. It is amazing. At other times He can feel so far away. It seems that your prayers just don’t come out right. You don’t feel the Spirit moving you and you don’t know why. You just don’t feel Him near you. I heard a cute story about an elderly…..
Have you ever really thought about what the Great I AM means? When God called Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt Moses asked God whom shall I say sent me? God answered I AM. Tell them that I AM sent you. This sounds sort of cryptic, but it you seriously delve into the meaning it is profound. I AM. Not I was or will be, but I AM. God is omnipresent. He has no beginning…..
