We love our new church. It is a Bible church and they preach directly from the Word. They have very strong beliefs and They do seek to please God not men. We believe life is sacred. One of the topics our Pastor spoke about on Sunday was Pro-Life Opportunities. He explained that he had three adopted children and was thankful for the choice their mother’s made. He talked about the importance of educating adults and children about how God feels…..

“The Good Shepherd 90” (CC BY 2.0) by Waiting For The Word I’m sure you are all familiar with the 23rd Psalm. It is so often quoted and most of us memorized it as children. It is the Psalm of comfort and peace. It is often read at funerals. It begins with “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” So many times we find ourselves in the state of “want”. We plan our lives and expect things to turn out…..
Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Paul says be anxious for nothing: This is a command, not an option. If we try to handle things on our own, we are not depending on God for things that belong to God alone. He is in control and He alone can make things right. It makes us the father of the household instead of being…..
I love the story in Ezekiel 37 where the Lord takes Ezekiel to a valley covered in the bones of an army that had been defeated. There were bones everywhere and they had been there so long they were completely dry. The Lord asked Ezekiel if these bones could live. He replied that only God knew. God told Ezekiel to prophesy to these bones to come alive. As he did as God said, the bones began to rattle and tendons…..
Did you know you are the hope of the world? Christ calls us to be the salt of the earth in Matthew 5:13. Salt preserves, enhances, enriches and intensifies. God put us all here to add meaning, not to find meaning. Our purpose is here. Don’t lose sight of what Christ said. With the Inauguration only a few days away, there are many people in turmoil. I’m sure you’ve seen all the dissent about “He’s not my President.” Some people…..
Have you ever spent much time reading and studying the Psalms? They are filled with words of wisdom. They are filled with praises to God for His goodness and mercy. God is a forgiving God. Spend time with the Psalms, they will lift you up. Most of the Psalms were written by David, one of my heroes of the Bible. He was just a boy when God called him to be the King of Israel. He spent years being chased…..
