In Mathew 5 Jesus is giving His Sermon on the Mount. He is addressing the people in what are called The Beatitudes. He is telling them if they trust in the Lord, they will be blessed. Jesus promises blessings.
I love verse 6 where it says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
Do you hunger and thirst for righteousness? Do you truly seek the Lord’s will for your life? Jesus says we will be blessed if we do.
Is your life built around learning more and more about who God is? Do you seek to know His true character?
Book stores have shelves filled with self-help books. Books on how to find peace; how to be happy; how to find your purpose and countless others. You already have the one book that has all these answers and many more.
The Bible is God’s gift to us to know Jesus Christ and all He has done for us. Because of His suffering and death, we can live lives filled with joy and peace. We are blessed beyond measure. We will spend eternity with Him.
I pray you spend time in His Word and in prayer each day. It will change your life. You will know that all your battles belong to the Lord of Creation. You will learn that “all things work for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Spend time with the Lord today and see how He will shower you with His blessings. Your day will be filled with joy and peace. His light will shine through you so that others can see Christ in you.
