It is easy to lose your spiritual direction in life. We take a lot of the wrong roads. We make bad decisions. We do the wrong thing and suffer the consequences. We can become filled with shame and doubt. The Holy Spirit convicts us when we are on the wrong path. Let Jesus Christ be our Savior to follow.
It is easy to get caught up in the ways of the world. It can happen without your even knowing it. We start with just a little sin and, like yeast, it can grow and grow. It doesn’t seem like such a big thing at first but sin can eventually consume our life.
We have to remember that our faith does not rest in us but in Christ. He is our Savior from all the temptations we encounter. He tells us to follow Him. He is the way and the truth and the life.
David was “a man after God’s own heart” yet he didn’t lead a perfect life. He had sorrows upon sorrows because of his sins. His child with Bathsheba died and he had turmoil in his family all his days.
Psalm 25:4-5 tells us:
“Show me your way, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”
When you find yourself on the wrong path, pray this prayer. Our God is a faithful God and He will give you the direction you need. We can’t do it on our own. We have to pray for the Holy Spirit to open our eyes and guide us and teach us the truth.
So, whatever is going on in your life today, know that we can turn to the Lord to set things straight. Praise God!
