There is just something refreshing about the beginning of spring. Even though we hardly had a winter in Houston this year, it is always so good to have warm days and cool breezes. I love to watch all the trees begin to bud out and the flowers abound. It is truly a gift from God to show us His Majesty.
One day in my quiet time when I was giving God thanks and praise for His goodness, the Spirit revealed to me that God could have made the world in black and white and we wouldn’t have known the difference. He wanted us to enjoy the splendor of His Majesty.
Think of the hummingbirds. What a spectacular display of beauty and wonder. How in the world can they fly all the way from Central America to the United States? They are so tiny you would think they would be buffeted by the wind and not be able to make progress. Only God could design such an incredible specimen.
I can’t wait to put out my hummingbird feeder. I will watch these beautiful creatures with awe but I will purpose to think of our God who created them. I will use it as a reminder of how much God loves us and how much He wants our lives to be filled with joy.
God in His glory has given us many gifts of beauty and displays of grandeur. We need to stop and enjoy these works of art. We need to realize that they are truly gifts and think of how good our God is when we enjoy these wonders.
