My husband, Dennis, and I were at a gathering of Christian friends last night. Most of them were “old” friends. You know what I mean. We are truly getting old, but these were long-time, dear friends.
We were in the home of a Pastor and his wife and were discussing our beliefs and how Christ is working in all our lives. We were talking about how blessed we truly are. It was a very special time. The Holy Spirit was so close you could almost reach out and touch him. It was an incredible feeling.
I think we spend far too much time not realizing the presence of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us. He said He would not leave us as orphans but he would send us a helper to guide us and to indwell us. Thank You, Jesus!
If the Holy Spirit is living inside us, He is constantly with us. We are never alone and should never worry no matter what is going on around us. Greater is He that is inside of me than he who is living in the world. With this knowledge and power, we should be able to do amazing things for Christ and to further the Kingdom. The Holy Spirit gives us the power of Christ in our lives. He wants us to live as Christ and let others see Christ in us.
Spend some time today in prayer to the Holy Spirit. You know Paul tells us in Romans 8:27 that when we don’t know what to pray the Spirit prays for us in groans that words cannot express. The Spirit knows us better than we know ourselves. Let Him fill you with the grace and peace of Christ and then share that with someone else who needs His strength.
