Since we have been in Costa Rica I have begun to realize what a hectic, harried life we live.
When at home we are constantly busy. We overlook growing as a Christian. While many of the busyness is important, a lot of it is just stuff crammed into our day. We have so many things we think we MUST do.
Costa Rica is another world. Nothing moves fast around here. It takes a bit of getting used to but once you do, you embrace it. I can spend leisurely mornings with the Lord. I don’t have to be anywhere in a hurry. I relish this time. It truly makes me not want to leave.
I have been able to read some really good Christian books and feel I have grown as a Christian down here. This is so much more than a vacation. We have to stop our crazy life and look back on it to realize just how out of kilter most of our days are.
I don’t think a crazy life is what God planned for us. We let the things of the world distort our vision. We become entangled in things that aren’t really important.
The most important thing is spending time with the Lord and growing in our relationship with Him. I know this is hard while you are living in the real world, but when I get home, I’m going to remember these days.
We all have twenty-four hours in a day. I am going to try to prioritize my life so that I can use my time more wisely. I want to grow as a Christian and make disciples as the Lord asked us to do. I pray you will try to do the same. It will make a world of difference.
