The name Costa Rica means rich coast. It is truly a paradise. The fauna and flora are magnificent. I am constantly reminded of the majesty of God’s creation. The tree in the picture is just off our patio. I hope you can see the size of the leaves. I’ve never seen anything like it. My first thought was that these must have been the kind of leaves used to make clothes for Adam and Eve.
Genesis 3 talks about the fall of mankind. God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and it was filled with everything they could possibly want and it was incredibly beautiful. We know the story of Satan tempting Eve to eat the fruit of the one and only forbidden tree. Once they sinned, they realized they were naked.
Genesis 3:7 “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so, they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”
But, this isn’t the end of the story. Our God is a loving and merciful God. In verse 21 we learn that “The Lord made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.”
God knows we are fallen sinners and yet He still loves us. There is nothing we can do to make God love us more and there is nothing we can do to make God love us less. God is love. He has loved us from the time we were knit together in our mother’s womb. He will never not love us. That is who He is.
I’m going to try my best to bring glory to God today but I know I will fall short. I’m going to pray for His guidance and pray you will do the same.
