Don’t you just love the way children can light up the room? When you have a new baby you don’t even need a TV. Everyone just sits and watches the precious new baby waiting for any movement and sound. When they smile at you, your heart melts. They are so filled with innocence and they love you unconditionally. Jesus talks about the faith of a child.
In Mark 10 Jesus tells the disciples to “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
These are pretty strong words from Jesus. Unless you receive the Kingdom of God with the faith of a child, you cannot enter it. This is not as easy as it sounds. Jesus is telling us that we must have complete trust and faith in Him to enter the Kingdom.
I know we believe but do we have complete trust and faith. When the Lord called me to leave my job and serve Him I had to do a lot of soul-searching. How would we get by without my income? Yet, I knew He was calling me and He would provide.
It took me three whole years of praying and reading His Word to finally reach the point of total surrender. Praise God He never gave up on me and He pruned away the branches that were not producing fruit. He gave me the complete faith and trust I needed to follow and serve Him. Thank you, Jesus.
I ask you to do some soul-searching today. Do you truly trust the Lord with your life? Do you have the faith of a child to say to Him: Here am I, Lord, send me? You can if you remain in prayer and in His Word. Praise God.
