Do you know that God wants us just as we are? Think about that, friends. It is true.
Think about Adam and Eve in the Garden when they fell for Satan’s temptation and ate the fruit from the forbidden tree. What is the first thing they did? They hid from God.
Now, we know that it is impossible to hide from God, but I find myself trying to do that very thing sometimes. When I know I am not living as He would have me to live, I shrink from Him. My prayers seem shallow and I feel He is far away.
Now, think about this: what did God do when He came to the Garden in the cool of the day to walk with Adam and Eve? He asked them where they were. He knew where they were, He just wanted to hear them say what they had done. They replied that they were hiding because they were naked and were afraid. He knew they had allowed sin into the world, but because of His unconditional love for them, He made them garments of fur to hide their nakedness.
This is actually the first sacrifice for our salvation. God had to shed the blood of animals to get the hides to make their clothes. It is by the blood of Christ that we are saved and not what we do or don’t do.
You see, even when we sin, God is there ready to forgive us. Don’t try to hide your sins. Confess them and receive the grace and mercy of our Glorious Father. Walk with Him in the cool of the day. Feel Him right beside you because He is.
