Matthew 9:1-3 says: When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He told them: “”Take nothing for the journey – no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.
Can you imagine Jesus calling the disciples to go out and drive out demons, cure diseases, and sending them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick? First of all, this sounds impossible. They were only uneducated men. They were fishermen, tax collectors and the like. How could they have the power to do these miraculous things?
Then, he tells them to take nothing with them. How were they even going to eat? Where were they going to sleep? No money? And, yet, the disciples obeyed and came back victorious. They said even the evil spirits were afraid of them.

There is Power in the Name of Jesus. When He gives you an assignment, He also provides the means for you to accomplish it. What a Glorious God we serve. Just trust Him and see the wonders He can perform through you.
