Have you noticed how infrequent and short our prayers can become when everything is going our way? We still say grace at meals and offer up a few items of our “wish list” to God, but these are not earnest prayer.
Conversely, have you noticed that when you have a problem, a bad diagnosis or tragedy, the first thing we do is fall on our knees and plead with God for help?
Don’t beat yourself up over this. This is simply human nature. However, God LOVES our daily prayers. They don’t have to be long, flowery prayers filled with big religious words. He is pleased with a simple “Thank you, Lord,” when you realize He has once again helped you in a situation.
In Ephesians 6: 18 Paul tells us:
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
You have to “purpose” to pray every day. You need to set aside a special time and place that you can comfortably spend time with the Lord without interruptions. This can be any time that works best for you. I have a place for my Bible, daily devotionals and my journal. I get a cup of coffee and the Lord and I have wonderful communion together. It is the most awesome way for me to start my day.
I pray you will spend time in His presence each day
