Several years ago the Lord called me to leave my job in the secular world and come to work for Him and care for His people. I have been incredibly blessed in doing so. Then He asked me to write a book for Him. As is my usual response to God’s call, it takes me forever to process it. My first reaction is that He couldn’t possibly be calling me or, how could He use me?
Praise God, through His grace, He has taught me that He isn’t calling me personally to do these things, but that He wants to use me as His instrument to accomplish His work through me.
It is through my “quiet time” alone with Him each day that these things have been revealed to me. He placed in my heart that one of his greatest desires is for all of His children to spend time alone with Him each day – time in His Word and in prayer.
Unfortunately, too many of us get so caught up in the busyness of the world that we “don’t have time to spend time with Him.” He impressed upon me to write this daily devotion in hopes that if people would just spend a few minutes each day with Him it would have a profound impact on their spiritual lives.
It has been an unimaginable blessing to spend time with Him as I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to give me the scriptures and prayer God wants us to hear. I pray you will be richly blessed and your time with the Lord will become such a joy that you couldn’t possibly start your day without first spending time with Him.
Do you have a special time to spend with God? What blessings have you received?
