I will never understand how people run marathons or do the Ironman! How can they be that disciplined and strong? They must work so hard every day to get in shape and then to get even stronger and stronger with more rigorous exercise. In their own way they are doing God’s work, demonstrating what humans can do with their body that He made. I am tired just thinking about it.
The reason this came to mind is that I am just completely worn out from helping with Kid’s Kamp at our church today. That’s the new term for Vacation Bible School. I like the new name. Who wouldn’t rather go to Kamp than spend your vacation going to any kind of school?
Anyway, I helped with the refreshments. It was a great adventure serving snacks to almost 400 kids. Being a part of all of that activity was tiring but I think they really enjoyed seeing a mature lady help them. I am so thankful for the people who are doing God’s work with the children and bringing them closer to Christ.
But, you know, this is a really nice “tired”. Serving the Lord in any capacity is so rewarding. I am so thankful that He has called me to serve Him and placed me where I am able to do so.
He called me to serve Him years ago. I’ve been doing my best since then. I am the recipient of so much of His love, blessings and grace, the very least I can do is share these with others.
I pray you have found your niche where you can serve the Lord. He called us all in Matthew 28:19 to go into all the world and make disciples. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
He didn’t say we have to actually go someplace far away. Our world is around us each day. We can let His light shine through us in serving His children. That’s the best “tired” there is.
