Have you ever really thought about what the Great I AM means? When God called Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt Moses asked God whom shall I say sent me? God answered I AM. Tell them that I AM sent you.
This sounds sort of cryptic, but it you seriously delve into the meaning it is profound. I AM. Not I was or will be, but I AM. God is omnipresent. He has no beginning and no end. That is difficult for our finite minds to embrace and yet it is one of the most important aspects of our faith.
God created the universe, galaxies and the earth – everything that exists. He did this with just His word. (Read Genesis 1.)
Then He created man. He took special care to create man. He formed us out of the earth and breathed His breath of life into us. We are made in His image. We are special in His sight. We are the only beings that have the ability to know God and have His Spirit abiding within us. Praise God.
We are blessed through His Son, Jesus Christ, to be called heirs of God. We will spend eternity with Him in Heaven singing His praises and worshiping Him.
When you are having a difficult day, think of the Great I AM. Realize that He is with you and will never forsake you. Think about the fact that He not only created the universe and everything within, He alone is in control. Take comfort in that. Even when things seem spinning out of control, the Great I AM is still on His throne. He cares about His creation and especially His Children.
May God bless you.
