With the New Year we have new beginnings. It is an exciting time of great expectation. However, we still have the same old problems from last year lingering in our mind. We know that we must trust in God but we are impatient.
We worry about money, our children, our future and all sorts of things. We pray and ask God for guidance and we wait. We know that God hears our prayers but it seems we don’t get any answers.
I pray that you will spend time with Him, not only in prayer but also in His Word. This is how we can know the heart of God. We will learn that He is faithful. We know that He will provide, but when?
I know I just told you about a Lauren Daigle song, Noel, in a recent blog, but she has another song that has really inspired me and gives me hope. As a matter of fact, it was the number one Christian song for 2016. It is called Trust in You. She says that no matter what she will trust in the Lord. When our prayers aren’t answered as quickly or as we would like, we must trust in God. He knows our future and wants the very best for each of us.
I heard a story about a man who visited Mother Teresa. She asked what she could do to help him. He said he wanted her to pray for him to have clarity. She said that she wouldn’t do that but instead she would pray for him to have trust.
We don’t need to figure it out for ourselves. God is there waiting for us to call on Him. We must be patient. He will provide the answer in His time.
No problem is too big for our God. We simply have to trust in Him. He will lead us. We just have to believe.
So the next time you are worrying about life’s hurdles, call on Him. You can trust in Him.
