Some days it seems that everything I do is uphill. Nothing is happening as it should. Projects that I need to complete are not getting done. I feel like I am carrying a load that I shouldn’t have to carry. When that happens I turn it over to God.
Life can be filled with battles. Some are much more serious than getting a project finished on time. We have battles with our spouse; our children; our neighbors and so on. Hopefully, these are just minor battles but they can become very disturbing.
Some of the battles are life or death. Our life can depend on the outcome.
When David was in battle against the Philistines, he inquired of the Lord as to what to do. He turned it over to God. Our great and faithful God answered him in 2 Samuel 5:23-24 – “Do not go straight up, but circle around behind them and attack them in front of the poplar trees. As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the Lord has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.”
I love that scripture. I can close my eyes and see and hear God moving to save His children. God can be so precise in His instructions and at other times so vague. What if David had not sought the Lord’s counsel?
When you are in a crisis do you turn to the Lord? If you trust in the Lord, He will fight your battles for you. Listen for the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees. That is God! He is right there with you to lead you to victory. Just call on Him and be still and know He is God!
