As I mentioned yesterday I am helping with our Kids Kamp at church. It is so much fun and warms my heart to see all the kids having such a good time learning about Jesus and begin understanding the Bible.
We also have our 8-year-old great nephew spending the week with us and attending the Kamp. We are so blessed to have him here. It is awesome not only to be with him but to also share Jesus with Him. I love our “goodnight prayers”.
He has already been to the Kids Kamp at his church in Cypress where they live. He is getting a double-dose of Jesus this summer! Yay! I Love it!
Our church is very big on memorizing scripture so that you can call upon the verses whenever you need them. I must admit that in the past it never occurred to me how important this is. The children have a scripture verse to memorize each day.
I have been helping him learn his Bible verse. It has been a very sweet time together. I also realized that there are several words like abundantly, midst, anxious, etc. that he has no idea what they mean. I helped him understand their meaning and how they apply to the scripture.
Yesterday he had to memorize a verse from Psalms. I was able to explain to him that David, the young boy who killed Goliath, wrote many of the Psalms. He was intrigued and I was thrilled.
Scripture is so much more than just reading the Word or even memorizing it. I pray you have a good study Bible that is a version you can understand easily. I pray you spend quiet time reading and meditating on God’s Word each day. You will be richly blessed. The more you learn about the character of God the more you will love him and give Him praise!
